A very surprising and happy experience in Basel. Great service, imaginative, fresh, lovingly thought-out cuisine. Unfortunately we live too far away to be able to go there often.

Ufer 7 has been on the list of restaurants I would like to visit for a long time. It was a wonderful evening. The service was excellent, attentive and very competent. It's the type of restaurant you either love or you don't. I'm less of an experimenter and appreciate simplicity. The menu has to be introduced by the staff, actually a great idea, but too complicated for me. The starters were rather expensive and rather frugal. We were very disappointed with the main course. The short ribs were tasty, the dumpling was far from a dumpling. Not through, rather hard and completely bland. We didn't find a salt shaker anywhere. The Asian-style pork buns with udon noodles piqued our interest. In the end it was just soup. I found that very disappointing. A pity. It would be such a great spot. We'll keep looking and will now only stop by for an aperitif in the summer.

The spaetzli with a vegetable plate was overcooked and the vegetable/meat soup only had one piece of meat!

The food was sensational: original and delicious! In summer it is definitely one of the most beautiful locations in Basel, but also highly recommended in winter

The food was delicious, nice presentation but too little content, especially the starters and desserts, little, very little for the price. The service was very friendly, it's a shame that the acoustics of the place are very bad and we couldn't hear the people who were at our table due to the poor acoustics of the place.

The rather inconspicuous restaurant impresses with its rustic but beautiful furnishings. From the outside you can see the Rhine directly, always a great address in summer. When it comes to eating, you can put together something yourself or choose something from the daily or weekly menu. Our menu was good and also had a special mayonnaise. The food and service were very good.

Ufer 7: Good food, but still room for improvement The restaurant is a rather young restaurant that specializes in modern, urban cuisine. The concept of the "Queerbeet", i.e. several small plates that can be shared together, has been successful in London for years and is now slowly becoming popular in Switzerland. The starters at Ufer 7 were consistently successful. The more eastern-flavored beets, such as scallops with ponzu and tapioca, are delicately seasoned and have a good balance of acidity and umami. The sweet and sour sauce is also a successful interpretation of the classic. The seasonal main courses, however, are a bit mixed. Although the duck was well cooked and the kumquat sauce was well balanced, the black Ticino polenta was unfortunately far too dry and uninspired. The service at Ufer 7 is friendly and attentive. The specialist staff is well trained and can make competent recommendations. The atmosphere is cozy and modern. It can only be a bit annoying near the service area, where the heat lamps constantly go on and off. Overall, Ufer 7 can be recommended as a good address for a sociable evening. The starters are highly recommended, but the main courses could be a little better. The team should therefore not rest on the success of the GaultMillau Pop seal, but should continue to improve the quality of the dishes.

Unique dishes and excellent beer! Tapas done swiss style with local/farm to table entree options. An amazing view of the rhine and excellent vibes. There were english menus & friendly staff. Best app we had was (to our surprise) the Atlantic perch and cauliflower! My entree of wild boar and pumpkin was cooked to perfection! We liked the unfiltered lager the best of all their house beers. Amazing place, would recommend to anyone in the area.

We did a search for best restaurants in Basel this place came up repeatedly. The service was excellent and the atmosphere charming. The food was good too but would like a little more presentation. I would go back to check out their small plates.

Excellent. We were on business and sat outside. We had 3 courses and everything was delicious. Waitress asked us if we wanted vegetarian, i.e. there is also the option, otherwise we had steak and it was very good. Dessert was also great and soup was delicious. Good drink selection. Great location - outside you can enjoy a great view of the Rhine. It looks good inside too.

Our team meal was great. Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was particularly great - very attentive, quick and friendly. As an event organizer, Ufer 7 is great and a guarantee for satisfied colleagues!

We forget our order and then we are completely forgotten and it is very expensive for the quantity a starter of 3 potatoes = 11frs a 20gr tartare with 2 toasts and 2 miserable little fish dipped in sauce with 2 spritzes 90frs with the reduction because we waited 2.5 hours for an entry, it's theft it's not even contempt anymore.

Attentive staff... but the food is not a highlight and with the additionally overpriced prices and small portions, it doesn't prevent you from visiting again.

We, 6 women, were able to enjoy a very delicious dinner in the cozy Ufer 7 last Thursday. There are wonderful and great dishes for every taste. Beautiful table with a beautiful view of the Rhine. The service was very nice and polite, not intrusive but accommodating. Thank you very much, everyone enjoyed it so much and enjoyed it.

And then there is the Ufer 7. Different in many aspects ! Mini portions of many delicious choices, combinations, order a second selection of things, when your mind is unsettling because you thought, that other choice, I missed that one. Some more meet, well this works here. Casual atmosphere, a good wine selection, young and hip service, with attention to the guest and wishes. Welcome to another hidden gem in Basel, in the boarder of father Rheine.

We were allowed to have lunch there on Saturday. The service is top and only through the service three ⭐️. We ordered the children's plates (1x fish crispy, 1x burger) for two, the crispy chicken burger and two small plates of salad. We couldn't tell the difference between the crispy chicken burger and the children's burger, only the price and it wasn't worth it. The sauce on the children's burger is very special and, in my opinion, not suitable for children. The burger bun was fried (very dark) and the two small salads were very small, they could have added more salad. It is important to reserve a place in advance. Otherwise you won't get any more.

The food used to be much better. The service was very disappointing. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the food. Only the ambience is very nice.

Very surprised about this location. Been there for a birthday meal, it was top from beginning to the end. Queerbeet starters were the highlight foodwise, so tasty and refined. A shoutout to our server who was simply outstanding. Perfect knowledge of food and beverage, high English speaking skills, an example how it should be done.

Great restaurant right on the Rhine with a brilliant menu. There is regional refreshment with the home-brewed beer (Stadtmauer Brauer). Definitely worth a visit.

Unfortunately the place is extremely loud! Food very expandable!! Perch nuts with french fries! Both from the deep fryer... Exactly the same color, in a bag... I didn't know I was going to eat fish or fries! The salad was very unimaginative… mixed salad from the bag!!! The service was friendly! There is still a lot of room for improvement!!

Cozy, casual and delicious. Suitable for meat lovers and vegetarians. Dogs are allowed. The beer was good, the food was fresh and the portions weren't too big, just right. The staff was very friendly. I can absolutely recommend it.

The food was good...when it was finally served after a long wait (1.5 hours). Friendly staff.

We would have liked to eat here but unfortunately we were immediately sent out of the restaurant with the reason "the chef is overloaded". It's beyond my understanding how the kitchen can be overloaded at 2:30 p.m. in a half-full restaurant (half the tables were unoccupied) on a Saturday afternoon, but I'm not a gastronomy expert. My recommendation: Call before your planned visit and ask whether the chef is not overloaded. We then ate at "Klarna 13" - there are many different restaurants with many chefs - so there is sure to be someone there who isn't overloaded...

Modern, great dishes, the food was good, especially the starters, service was good, but we had to wait a long time until someone came, as if we had been forgotten, maybe there wasn't enough staff there.

The food was absolutely brilliant! Even though we were there on a Friday evening, we didn't have to wait long and were served very friendly and courteously despite the restaurant being full. The menu is constantly being adapted, which guarantees the seasonality of the dishes. The food was not only amazing in terms of taste, but was also wonderfully prepared! I would definitely recommend it!

Absolutely first class restaurant with outstanding service. The food was perfect, kudos to the chef/kitchen. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Always there but never intrusive. Good wine advice, it was also possible to try different wines Price/performance perfect. Prices are normal for Swiss standards, although the food is one or two classes higher. Small map, but everything you need is there. We were definitely not there for the last time! Absolute recommendation!

Aesthetically pleasing place, and well located. We took 2 first courses after a suffocating pressure from the staff (asking us 3 times if we had chosen, in 5 minutes), it must be admitted that they were fantastic, really excellent, after which we asked for the dessert menu... but after 40 minutes still nothing, finally at 10pm it was brought to us telling us that the kitchen was closed and therefore we could only have an ice cream (in winter with 4°????). You ruined a nice celebratory dinner.

Tastes! Tastes! Tastes! First time here, thrilled!

This is one of the most highly-rated mid-priced restaurants in Basel, and it is wholly deserving of praise. There is a small basic menu of burgers and a few other mains, but since many reviewers recommended the small plates, that’s what I went for - steak tartare, seared tuna tataki and burrata… All were well-executed with balanced flavour profiles. On top of that you get a great view of the Rhine and the service was faultless. Highly recommend!

The food was good, but unfortunately we had to wait far too long (45 minutes) for the starter during the lunch break despite the small selection of lunch menus. That's not ok to keep people waiting that long. Staff was very friendly.

We were a large group of 11 people who came for dinner. It was someone's birthday and they brought a cake. We consumed 550 that evening, but we weren't allowed to eat the cake in the restaurant. This would only have been allowed for 7.- per cake plate. After a cozy evening we had to eat the birthday cake on the street. I won't be coming to this restaurant for my birthday anymore!

Eat really tasty food like you would with good friends. This is how you could summarize the visit in just one sentence. The menu is manageable, but everything is prepared fresh and with great attention to detail - you can see and taste it. The service is personal, very friendly and you enjoy the presence of the staff - which is admittedly not often the case. Even though it was our first time as a guest, we were treated like old friends - the saying “like calling into the forest…” certainly plays a role here too. All in all, a very nice evening with very good food and service that was exceptionally friendly. Thank you for the evening with and with you! We are already looking forward to the next time.

Well it's good but not exceptional either. But the burger costs 27 Ch and the fries cost 5 Ch extra. The glass of wine is 10cl and not a drop more. This is Switzerland's real problem. The abuse.
