Walter Buchmann Café Hubertus in Zürich

The food is ok, the ambience is pleasant, but what's wrong with the service??? As others have written before me, very rude and unmotivated service. So bad that I can't give it more than 1 star.

I can only agree with the others. Quite unmotivated staff. And the prices are too high. 15.50 for a salad that goes down in 3 bites is definitely too much.

During the week, French croissants are industrial and on weekends they are fresh and delicious. Both at the same price.

The terrible service in a great coffee place. We visit this bakery quite often and we are each time shocked by the behavior of the staff. How is it possible that they are every time so rude, resentful with a bitter look on their face? The food is lovely but the staff behavior is overpowering the whole experience. I even went to read comments before posting my own, and the amount of comments about staff is very high. It is pitty for such a lovely place ✌🏽

The tea was expected in a teapot, but it turned out to be just tea bags. The choice is large. Cappuccino, well, how can I say, it’s not terrible, but in fact it was ordinary coffee with milk foam. A coffee machine makes things taste better at home. Impression: For one time only.

Just opposite Siemens there is a cosy neighbourhood café with freshly baked pastry and bread and an attentive personel

I recently discovered this bakery and cafe, and it's was worth a try. The local atmosphere here is charming, and the friendly staff adds to the welcoming vibe. The serves is fast and the offer delicious breakfast with great coffee. The only downside is it can get busy during rush hours, but it's worth a visit if you are around.

Very cozy cafe. The staff is very friendly and even if you can only order at the counter, that doesn't detract from the feel-good factor. Very good croissants and chocolate-vanilla snails😅 unfortunately it is a bit noisy inside with many guests. Very cozy outside in summer.

My favorite bakery and coffee shop in Zurich. Coffee, cappuccino, croissants and lots of bread and baked goods are especially delicious. Atmosphere is special and the staff friendly. I always love visiting when I am in Zurich.

Cozy and stylish café and bakery located right next to the Tram 3 Hubertus tram stop. As you would expect in Zurich, the cappuccino, for example, is also available with oat milk if desired. Friendly service.

I can recommend the cappuccino, the vegan nut croissant or the plum croissant. The great selection of bread is also wonderful. The service is always friendly and prompt. I like coming here.

Really cozy cafe. I like the food and the fact that they have decaf and oat milk. I can totally relate to the others complains about the staffs attitude. They are not the friendliest. No smiles and and a defensive demeanour. I feels like to going to welfare to get food stamps.

I really liked the cafe. I came there in the morning, I immediately liked the good service. The waitress is very friendly and nice, the service can be in both German and English. It was nice to sit outside with a fragrant cup of coffee, the atmosphere around was also good, people passed by me, I saw the tram passing by, and how the city is slowly waking up. I want to go back there again.

Fantastic latte macchiato with PERFECT milk foam. The furnishings are intentionally rustic. The location right on the street might be a little noisy, but it's just 5 meters to the tram. Service is friendly and helpful. Gladly again. PS: The milk is organic.

Small, fine restaurant somewhere between a bakery, café and lunch table. In addition to the baked goods, there are also good salads, sandwiches, lunch menus and breakfast and brunch options. In summer you can also have an iced coffee or a beer on the terrace while people watching on the nearby Albisriederstrasse. The service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. I think it's a shame that something closes early, especially in summer. There's almost a beer garden atmosphere outside, and after all the place was once a beer hall, so I think it would be nice if it didn't close so quickly for an after-work beer 😊

Unfortunately very unfriendly staff. No smile, nothing. Try to be friendly all the time, but nothing comes back. What a shame! The café is otherwise very friendly, good baked goods. If the staff were nice we would be there much more often.

The “restaurant” that survived the refurnishing of the square. This used to be THE Hubertus. A classic quarter trowel. Now it is a bakery branch of Walter Buchmann's chain. It's no longer a real restaurant, but it's a very nice café where you can also get small meals. A kind of take-away where you can also eat on site. The large and cozy “garden”, a gravel area in the style of a beer garden, is great.

Very unprofessional service. Salespeople who roll their eyes and answer simple questions snidely. And saleswomen who don't even speak German. Never again !

I always used to love going to Hubertus. Unfortunately, I have now been completely disappointed with “how to respond to customers and complaints.”

Cosy, well-decorated café, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat over lunch or a snack. They have a large variety of teas to choose from, and decent coffee too (although I wouldn’t go there specially for the coffee). Nice environment to chill in, work (if you don’t have virtual meetings), and to relax outside when the sun is out.

Best bread and cakes in the area

Food and bread were good, salads were way too expensive. Ambience would be very nice, but the service is incredibly bad. Very, very unfriendly, constantly changing service and very long waiting times at the checkout. Why do you let such people have customer contact? Not efficient at all and constantly stressed, no eye contact, no smile.

Coffee was under average for Zürich

The staff the staff the staff... Some are friendly, some like robots, no smile, no care and no enthusiasm... A cafe is about the food quality but also the ambient. Cafe Hubertus does not have the latter, and it is mainly due to its management and staff. Food quality and coffee, normal...

Very nice café, great offerings and comfortably furnished. Unfortunately, the music usually doesn't match the ambience. Still recommended.

Unfortunately, a beautiful old, genuine Zurich pub was destroyed for this mediocre café! With the wonderful beech, what a shame! There are almost no more..., there is no service at the table, you have to wait in line at the buffet, unfriendly service

March 12, 2022 / 8:20 a.m.: Fortunately, the bread and the rest are very good and of high quality, because the staff cannot be surpassed in their unfriendliness. It's such a shame that people like this have direct contact with customers.

Good swiss traditional bakery, the pastries and the bread are really good, the coffee on the other hand is not so good unfortunately. Really kind staff, relaxed atmosphere.

Some days the staff are friendly. Some days the staff couldn't give a s#!t about customer satisfaction. Coffee is always good. Food is expensive. The selection is large.

A place with a very fine cappuccino that also tastes like coffee and from what we heard they have very good croissants, unfortunately they didn't have any left, which was a shame.

Unfortunately there is no certificate check when consumed at the table. Offer is varied, quality is no more than ok. Outdoor seating is nice.

About 2.5 years ago there was a friendly young gentleman in the team who was the best for me in terms of friendliness and attention, it's a shame he's not here, a very big loss.

I love the baguette and cookies from Buchmann but the staff was not rude but not polite, I wasn't felt welcome. I guess I'll try different cafes before coming back.

Best place for a quick breakfast or brunch in Zurich on weekends. Nothing extravagant, but everything you need with a great selection of breads, paninis and coffees and teas. They have all kinds of vegan milks (soy milk, almond milk or oat milk) and it is lovely sitting outside, but also the interior is super nice. Staff is super friendly and fast. Check out their "Bäcker's Zmorge" which includes orange juice, coffee and some cheese. Really fair prices for great quality.

Sorry dear Hubertus team. But the quality of your spelled rolls and - sorry if I spell it wrong - Chnäberli is, without exaggeration, inadequate. Hard to bite off, even for someone with their first teeth. If the above-mentioned baked goods that my friend bought from you this morning were fresh, then I would strongly doubt this. The oblong bun was as tough as cardboard. Simply not edible and the spelled roll didn't make it any better. Was a complete success as a sandwich roll. To be honest, the croissant doesn't exactly blow me away. I bake better myself. Sorry for the bad review, but hopefully you can improve the quality. Best regards, Matthias

It is a cafe/bakery with a nice terrace, known for its brunches. It has vegan and vegetarian options, breads and pastries with different types of flour. During the week there are soups to take away and every day quiches, sandwiches, etc.

Salad, and sandwich are home made. Croissant are perfect and cakes are fresh. Employees are not always friendly.

It was very pleasant to sit on the terrace, relaxed, the staff was friendly and helpful, the prices were sometimes a little high but of good quality
