Cantina e9 in Basel

One of the best restaurants, if not the best restaurant I've ever eaten at!!!! We were visiting Basel and it was recommended to us by a very nice lady on the street. We entered and were immediately welcomed very well, there was an initial language problem but after a man came who spoke English this was resolved. I found the staff impeccable, very friendly and attentive. I also loved the fact that everyone who works there has some level of disability, which makes the place even more special! Regarding the food, it was really good, and the atmosphere was really welcoming! In conclusion, if you are ever in Basel you have to come and eat at the Cantina!!! 5⭐ LOVED THIS PLACE!!

Absolutely great value for money! Good, clear selection of 4-5 lunch menus every day (salad or soup, main course, dessert). Nice, quick service. Very balanced, varied menu. With 3 daily changing menus and 2 weekly hits, there is something for everyone. You also support a social institution through the food. So great

There were 13 people, we were greeted very friendly, great service, nice restaurant, and the food was also excellent. We will consider Cantina e9 again.

The food is always delicious and the service is nice! The only downside is when there are a lot of people it is quite noisy.

The menu selection is brilliant. Even as a regular guest it doesn't get monotonous for me. The quality is almost without exception top. The service is very attentive and extremely friendly. The atmosphere throughout the restaurant contributes to well-being. It's nice that there's a lot of social commitment associated with it.

There is always very friendly service and the food is also very good with starter, main course and dessert at a very moderate price. The ambience is simple and a little cool for my taste, but everyone should decide for themselves. A visit will be worth it in any case. I will continue to go to the Cantina more often.

Very good quality of the food (soup and/or salad, main course, dessert) and nice service. Ambiance as the name suggests, more like in a small canteen, i.e. usually quite loud, because it is well attended - but still bearable. The food definitely makes up for the noise!

The location is a bit trying to be modern, ok if you like it, yes if it's youthful then please go all the time but no, I'm a vegan and don't like being a vegetarian, which I think is an absolute waste of food. All 5 menus were prepared on plates at the bar to be displayed. What food waste. Meat meat meat then cauliflower with rice and parmesan sauce or tomato mozzarella salad with scrambled eggs Yuck, what unimaginative crimes are these? Does someone want to punish me because I watch what I eat? When I then asked for coffee with oat milk, a clearly faded rose of hospitality told me coolly and snippily that I should look for a vegan restaurant. I was there with a colleague and then drank some water and got annoyed. The older gentleman who was supposed to be the chef de service wasn't interested in getting involved. I mean, bad vegan, what am I supposed to do with an oat milk for a coffee and an unimaginative vegetarian menu? want. The people who ate the cauliflower were not happy. But what really annoyed me was putting the plates on display, what an unbelievable amount of food waste

Very good value for money! Good, clear selection of 4-5 lunch menus every day. I had soup, salad, main menu, dessert and drinking water (as much as you want). For just under CHF 21, this is great! The service is very nice, courteous and extremely prompt. Highly recommended for lunch

You can choose between different dishes every day and get a 3-course menu consisting of salad, soup of the day, main course and dessert for between 15 and 35 CHF. Even a glass of water is included. The great thing about everything is that you are doing something good for people with physical or mental disabilities. The proceeds will be donated to an organization.

Good price/performance ratio Always very rich

This place is always well organised, friendly and the menus are great. Even with take away, menus are always beautifully prepared and served. Portions are generous so that I sometimes have more to enjoy for dinner.

Nice canteen. Each menu is on offer. The prices are also moderate. The food (chicken breast with noodles) was delicious. Uncomplicated atmosphere and friendly service.
