La Taquería in Zürich

For me the taqueria makes a very authentic impression. As is often the case in South America, the best restaurants are behind the inconspicuous door without much signage on the outside. We ate wonderfully with every order. Compliments to the kitchen. The staff only spoke Spanish/English, although I'm not sure if that's due to a lack of skilled workers or if they're deliberately trying to add to the scenery. Normally I appreciate it when I can order in German/Swiss German, but in this case it didn't bother me at all, but it also reinforced the South American atmosphere. In summary, the attentive service worked wonderfully. The sanitary facilities are clean, Price performance is fair for Zurich and the surrounding area. I hope management is aware of this and keeps it that way if possible. Fair pricing model. I really enjoyed the visit with my friends and will definitely come again. I'm already looking forward to the next visit as I write.

Finally made it to la Taqueria in Altstetten 🙌🏽🙌🏽 very tasty burritos, you should save less with the taco chips, they aren't that expensive! Seats outside covered. Very nice service and fair prices.

Friendly Staffel, however even through it is Altstetten - make a reservation. That place is great and without a reservation it might be tricky to get a table at evening (esp. weekends)

Authentic Mexican food guaranteed to cure sad winter days.

If you love Mexican food like I do and you now live abroad, it is sometimes hard to find a good Mexican restaurant. La Taqueria is an oasis for anyone in this situation. Fantastic tacos, burritos, drinks, etc. In the summer, there is also a patio that you can use to enjoy the (sometimes) beautiful Swiss summer. It is tucked away so don’t walk by this little gem. Give it a try!

A place where you can simply feel comfortable and linger. With every visit you are warmly welcomed, discover a new loving detail in the decoration and get your taste for authentic food and drinks.

We made an order for our team lunch. Everything worked out great and the team at La Taqueria was very friendly and organized everything really well. And the burritos were super delicious. We will definitely order again. Thank you very much!

The somewhat hidden, but extremely authentically decorated Mexican restaurant convinced me with its delicious burritos. The meat is super juicy and the ingredients are well balanced. The service was also friendly. The only point of criticism is that in my opinion the price is a bit too high, but you get really good food so the restaurant is definitely worth a visit :)

Floored by how good this place is! We’re from the US but have been living in Europe for a few years now and happened upon this place and it’s BY FAR the best and most authentic Mexican food we’ve found on all of our European travels. Higher recommend, especially if you are missing that traditional Mexican food in your life.

Very fine planted tacos! Great atmosphere. The outdoor area is great and equipped with high-quality garden furniture.

For tacos I’d recommend the fish and shrimp ones, the meat and insect ones were slightly dry.

Very tasty food and great service. Unfortunately, the restaurant is rather expensive and, depending on the dish, a bit overpriced. However, the food can be described as authentic Mexican and stopping by here every now and then is definitely not a bad idea :)

Here you can find authentic Mexican food. The tacos al pastor are great and the nachos are my highlight. Unfortunately, a spontaneous visit is not possible here as it is always very crowded. A reservation is therefore necessary. The price is ok for Zurich standards, but not cheap.

Shame on the staff 👎 I came from 25 kms to have dinner with my family I tried to call them to book table with no response, After I reached there half of the restaurant was empty still the staff suggested us to come again as they don't have space for 3 ppl, I didn’t expect the staff behaviour Really not helpful

Wow. ❤️ LOVE ❤️ the atmosphere, the lights, the exterior, the interior- all totally my jam. 🇲🇽 The food was almost as good as it gets in Switzerland- the guacamole was more cream than avocado, the margarita glasses were straight up unsalted water glasses with paper straws, but damn- the carnitas and carne asada were legit. The sauces in the bottles were meh- the roasted one being the best. Straight up will for sure return here every time I come back to Zurich. Pricey- but everything here in Switzerland is. 🤑

Nice restaurant, feels very Mexican. Unfortunately the food doesn't taste like it does in Mexico, but that's the case in most Mexican restaurants in Europe. Probably very tasty for Swiss, but a bit disappointing for Mexicans (as usual).

I haven't finished my burrito with shrimps and asked them for take away. When i decided to eat it at home, I realized they gave me extra 3shrimps. Totally recommend it!!! 😂💕

So if you go in there as a Latin American, you'll be pretty disappointed. There are 4 of us and none of the 4 eat very well, no salt, no spices, I don't even think there is any pepper. It's good if you add salt and so on to the table. When I pissed in my menu I just said don't go to Mexico if that's the case, I'll starve in 2 days. But maybe it's better there. Sorry, I don't even know how you got to 4.6. Thank you very much

Cool resti in Zurich Altstetten. Come back!

I lived in Mexico for several years. My wife is Mexican. In the Taquería we enjoyed the best Mexican food outside of Mexico. We would come back in a heartbeat! The tacos are a poem, the burritos de carnitas are excellent in every respect. Absolutely recommend the aguas. Pure Mexico! The Sopa Azteca was also very good. The price-performance ratio of the children's menu was exceptionally good. Every child really likes the Quesadilla de Maíz Morado with frijolitos - absolutely recommended! The only two “criticisms”. The Sopa Azteca wasn't spicy enough. Unfortunately, the sauces weren't as spicy as usual in Mexico. But this is most likely due to the palate of the average European customer, who doesn't tolerate spicy food well 😉 Could you possibly also offer salsa macha as a supplement? Also worth highlighting is the personal, very friendly and courteous service. Thank you for the great (taste) experience!

You can tell that the food is fresh, it was a breathtaking experience, the food was more than just delicious, if I could I would give it 10/5 stars. The staff was very friendly and accommodating despite the heavy rush, greeted us warmly and did everything so that we could still sit. It was a bit noisy because the restaurant is so busy. But otherwise nothing to complain about. We'd love to come back.

We have been here many times and recommend it to friends. The menu is small but the dishes are on point. The portions are large and the nacho plate with refried beans is sooooo good. We take it every time and then we can hardly finish the main courses. I like the tacos best. They are small and you can try different varieties. Definitely try it if you want good Mexican food.

The ambience is very appealing, but the restaurant is rather small and therefore a little louder. Food was very tasty and authentic but a bit expensive. A taco costs 6.90 CHF, which adds up quickly. We ate 4 tacos per person and an appetizer, which filled us up well. Would come again.

A small restaurant in the center of Altstetten. The food is varied and tastes very authentically Mexican. The interior space is very limited and a reservation is recommended here. However, it is possible to take the food away as take-away. Definitely an insider tip if you love Mexican food.

Delicious tacos!! I went for my little sister's 30th birthday and loved it!! Can't tell which was better, the spicy margaritas or the mouth-watering tacos!! Might go tonight again..

Great authentic Mexican food after an 18 hour flight from San Diego, California. The Nachos with Guacamole was enough for a meal. My "California Burrito" was just like I would get in San Diego and it left me absolutely stuffed!

I loved the place! It's got a very authentic Mexican vibe and although it was super busy, we managed to snag one of the last smaller tables. We both ate different burritos - they come with a small bowl of beet and some nachos. They also offer you a choice of Mexican spices to zing up your food ;) The fridge was, in my opinion, tasty, and just comforting! I'd visit again with the hubs...

A small but fine restaurant with a focus on Mexican food. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. The nice explanations helped with choosing the right food. At least on Thursday, nothing was possible in the evening without a reservation…

If you are looking for authentic, tasty burritos, enchiladas, burritos, and of course tacos, you'll be at the right place at the Taqueria. Charmingly aber colorfully decorated. Indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly and accommodating staff. As the place is popular, reservations are recommended.

Riesen Entäuschung! The value for money is no longer right for me. I've been to your establishment many times and have always been satisfied. The food was consistently excellent. However, recently, the portions have been reduced, and last weekend, the food even arrived cold! This is unacceptable, and the Birria de Venado did not live up to its price at all.

Used to love this place, but my favourite, the Changuitas are suffering from shrinkflation. They used to be big, long and three would sit lengthways across the take away box, filling it 100%. They are now small, short, and sit sideways in the box like asian spring rolls. The price is the same! It would be better to increase the price and be transparent instead of cheating the customer for the same price.

Very good food (depending on the chef on duty, because there are times when the food has no flavor but they told me that is because the same person does not always prepare it) very good service (they can improve it if they wanted) I would like there to be more variety of Mexican food. The best of the best are the beans and roast beef. I do recommend this restaurant, it has good Mexican flavor.

Had to send one of the taccos back. Unfortunately, the food was all cold and not fresh (except for the corriander/pineapple). Very unfortunate. As a consolation, there were free churros as dessert, but I still had to pay for all the taccos. Unfortunately, communication from the service was insufficient regarding cold food.

Sometimes the burritos are a little too oily. Then it drips the whole time. In addition, the sauces are often forgotten to add when you just pick them up. Otherwise super nice and tasty. In terms of price, I think it's a bit expensive.

A gem of a spot offering some of the best tacos in Zurich! Located in a quiet corner of Altstetten, they have a large outdoor seating area (perfect for summer) and indoor area. The restaurant has an array of different Mexican cuisine dishes but I haven’t ventured away from their tacos! It’s hard to find a place in Zurich that can make the corn tortillas well, but La Taqueria does! Staff are friendly and attentive, and the vibes here are top. The WC decor is also special. Be prepared and book reservation in advance (we’ve been turned away as walk-ins more than once) or go before the rush (before 18:00) and maybe they can fit you in before their reservations. Highly recommend!

Very nicely decorated restaurant. The atmosphere is great and fits perfectly for a Mexican restaurant. There are typical Mexican dishes and a large selection of beers to match. Seating is available inside and outside. The restaurant is usually very busy at peak times and it makes sense to reserve a table.

The food is delicious with great value for money. We tried Platos Pollo Asado and Platos Carne Adado and they both tasted awesome although I liked the Pollo more. The atmosphere is very beautiful and chill. This place is a must try restaurant in Zuirch! I do recommend it.

Went there spontaneously with the family including a toddler! Food was very tasty and the service was great! The service was super friendly and also helped us with the children's chair and always made sure that we were all happy! Can only highly recommend this place! We'd love to come back! Super excited to come across this affordable taco shop in Zurich! Not only do they have a variety of tacos, but also burritos or platter of meat choice with beans and rice. We ordered 3 tacos each and I must say I tried the "chapulines " ((crispy grasshoppers)) wow, crunchy like bacon bits, loved it! Also recommend the "carnitas" great pork cooked just like back in Mexico. Place nicely decorated and the staff is very friendly. Lots of outdoor seating as well as inside, clean WC upstairs. Thank you for having such a wonderful delicious taco joint out here in Switzerland! Definitely recommend this place!

Enjoying Mexican food and a beer in the garden in the summer evening is simply wonderful. For me, they are at the top when it comes to friendliness and enjoyment of Mexican cuisine. Burrito California is always worth ordering and then the churros with dulce de leche and a shot of whiskey are simply brilliant.

Authentic Mexican Lockal, small and cozy with a garden. The food is fresh and very tasty and before/after/there are fine cocktails and a large selection of beers. It was our first time here and we will come again!
