Tadka Indisches Restaurant in Zürich

A little gem in Zurich. I have been there recently with my three friends and we all fell in love with this place. Not only is the food extremely tasty, but the service is one of a kind. We ordered 4-5 different plates, all of which exceeded our expectations. The team is warm and willing to go the extra mile. I warmly recommend and will return for sure. A big big big thank you to the owners who managed to make us feel at home while ensuring it remains a special hospitality experience !!

Impressed with the food. Never expected Veg Biryani to taste that better. Had Aloo Paneer Tikki and Veg Biryani, both tasted really good. My day ended perfectly with wonderful food. The ambience was great.

Overpriced and overrated. Paid CHF 70 plus for buffet which offered NO sweet dish, no curd, not even a lime for drinks. The breads were undercooked. You can most definitely eat at better places with lesser prices and tastier food. Had food at lot of other Indian restaurants in Swiss and can say they are not as good as they charge.

Sadly the lamb saag had absolutely no flavour and didn’t even come with lamb (or if it was that lamb tasted like flavourless chicken) However my husband had the chicken tikka which was very nice!

Never order online anything from this restaurant. I have ordered 4 times so far from this restaurant and everytime they we were missing something. Despite calling and asking them to double check the order, they were still missing items. Never seen such service and this level of carelessness that too in Zurich. Stay away from ordering online from this restaurant.

As an Indian, in my opinion the food wasn't authentic enough, there was clearly room for improvement in terms of taste.

We ate there once about 4 or 5 years ago and the food was truly heavenly. That's why we went again yesterday. Unfortunately it was a complete disappointment. You yourself said that the chef changed and you enjoyed the food. We ordered 2 Biriyani which were too salty. A butter chicken that was way too sweet. So really not good. We then reported it and the only thing we were offered was a mango lassi or a kulfi. We declined the offer because we weren't full at all. Half the food was left over. You really couldn't enjoy the biriyani as there was always a salty aftertaste. We had eaten there worth 200.00, we would have preferred it if they had done something about the price. That was money we threw out the window. The ambience was very nice. But that's no use if you're not full from eating. The price-performance ratio is also not there. The prices are far too high for what is on offer. It used to be cheaper and it was worth eating there for the money, but now it's not worth it anymore. We're sorry but we won't be eating there again in the future.

Today we got our lunch here for the first time instead of in the Himalayas. Very friendly service, great food (vegi) and very fair prices. We will be back :-)

Very good quality and authentic cuisine! We had two dishes and were not disappointed. Having been to India, we found flavors that we already knew! It was like a trip ;) A great address that we recommend. We will come back!

We spontaneously visited Tadka after we saw that it is part of the Veggiepass. We enjoyed a nice meal and very friendly service there. The food is tasty with a more than appropriate price tag. The atmosphere is relaxed. I can recommend Tadka as casual dinner spot with a good selection of vegetarian/vegan Indian dishes.

Have been coming here for many years. Great team, excellent service and my go to Indian restaurant when visiting Zurich from London. I should add that their new location at Ackerstrasse is now much closer to the main station and bigger than the old restaurant 👍

A lovely restaurant with friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Food is excellent - I had the mixed veggie starter withe pakora, samosa and onion bhaji and then Punjabi chana masala with a garlic and coriander nan. All delicious and washed down with a beer and a free liqueur. Highly recommended.

Great lunch buffet at a fair price

Arriving late, they welcomed us, made a table available and we ate Indian dishes with great pleasure. I highly recommend.

Super fine food, very authentic Indian cuisine, also many vegetarian and vegan menus on the menu. Prompt and courteous friendly service. Beer by the glass. In summer or when the weather is good you can also sit outside. Often very busy in the evening, a reservation is an advantage. Easily accessible by public transport (Neue is no longer on Quellestrasde but very close to Limmatplatz, tram stop Limmatplatz Tram 4 & 17)

I was there last Saturday with 2 friends. You have a buffet and can have as much as you want for just a few 40.-. That is really a very fair price. With salad and dessert included. The food was really very tasty and you noticed again that Indians have very good food and great cuisine. I want to go to Tadka again. Thank you very much for the great and nice evening with you! Great, authentic Indian restaurant. Eat there or order often!

Very good Indian (North Indian) cuisine. If you request the staff, they will make the dishes as spicy as the ones we get in India. The portion sizes are quite big as well.

Food was Pathetic. Ordered Salad. It wasn't fresh and was smelly too. The waiters were confused and had no manners to attend , moreover they wanted us to leave when we were about to finish our food. Not at all Indian Food standards.

Good service. Nice ambience. The food could be more spicier, and the buffet should include dal chawal! Nothing like ending an Indian meal with dal chawal!

We enjoyed dining in the courtyard and the food was delicious. We started with samosas and a grilled paneer dish. The naan was fresh and the perfect texture of crispy yet still soft and pliable. We ordered both the garlic and garlic+ coriander and they were both similar but I guess for some people coriander tastes like soap so it's nice that there were options without. Friendly service although they try to push the buffet menu when you order. If you like variety and have a big appetite maybe worth it, but we were happy with a la carte.

Super tasty, aromatic Indian food and not too spicy.

Out of many experiences in Switzerland, I can say Tadka made it to top 5 for having an authentic North Indian Meal. The food was excellent and so was the ambience. Me and my parents enjoyed the food and worth mentioning the the prices were pretty reasonable as well in comparison to others in the city.

Excellent place for Indian food and good Ambience too. Next to a team station. Service was also good. One star less for charging for tap water and billed for mineral water. Nowhere in Switzerland I paid for tap water. If I paid it was mineral bottled water.

Had a delicious dinner at Tadka. We ordered the tadka dhaal and bhindi masala with garlic naans. All their food was authentic and perfectly spiced, as an indian myself, I highly recommend!

Frankly speaking, it is a hero restaurant. I ordered shrimp masala and chicken biryani. The food is delicious. The service is hero. The parking lot in front of the restaurant is free. The place is tidy and clean, but it is a little expensive. Our cost with 3 soft drinks was approximately 85 francs (I wish there was a menu in Arabic).

Everything was amazing the food, the service and the place. It is a very good place where you can eat with your family.

Tadka Indian Restaurant in Zurich is an excellent choice! The Indian dishes were delicious and authentically prepared, it tasted like India. We were particularly impressed by the flavors and spices. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff is friendly. The variety of dishes on the menu is impressive. We had a great experience and will definitely come back again. Highly Recommended.

We went here for dinner. Food was freshly prepared. Service we received was great. Restaurant was nice and nice atmosphere. Vegetarian food choices was good. We liked all dishes we ordered and would recommend this place.

The food quality was great. I recommend the butter chicken. Customer service was also wonderful!

Very friendly host and staff (English is an advantage). The garden is cozy and, thanks to the old trees, is pleasantly cool in the shade, even on hot days. The cuisine is typically Indian with one or two specialties/surprises. The chicken Malabar, but also the Indian buffet was very good.

We had a great experience at Tadka restaurant. The food tasted very delicious. We ordered Garlic Corriander Naan, Kashmiri Naan, Butter chicken, Chicken biryani and Butter Chicken. Perfect level of spice and taste. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Little bit pricey. But it was worth the money spent. Will definitely recommend if you want to taste good Indian food.

Very pleasantly surprised as we had delicious north Indian dinner here recently. If you ask them to prepare the food in the ‘Indian spicy’ way, they will prepare it to what you should expect from an authentic and nice Indian restaurant (with proper seasoning and spices). We tried the Chicken tikka masala, Malai Kofta (which we asked them to prepare to be less sweet than normal), Aloo paratha, paneer naan and garlic naan. Everything except the garlic naan tasted amazing, the quantities were great (not too much or little), and the service was very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bit hard to find, they do have limited street parking in front of the restaurant but its pretty packed on weekends. Overall we had a lovely dining experience in their outside dining area, which was beautifully decorated, had good ambience and was a nice place to relax and relish a nice meal. Highly recommended!

Even though the Ambience of the place is nice, it doesn’t make up for the terrible food. If you are an Indian visiting Switzerland, this is NOT a place you should eat at. Apart from the taste of the food being terrible, it is nowhere close to what you’d get back home. And it’s also very overpriced for its subpar food. Would not recommend

Went here for chai and starters and loved the vibe of this place. Also their Alu Paratha was really tasty!

The food had almost no taste except for a little spiciness. I could hardly distinguish between Palak Paneer and Daal Makhani blindly which speaks volumes. The service and the beautiful outside seating alone were convincing, but the restaurant is simply too expensive for that.

Ordered the Chicken Korma and Garlic Naan. Korma ... was average at best. Tasted even worse when it came back up at 4am. Naan was drenched in oil - it was dripping off it which wasn't pleasant. Nice location/setting and staff though.

Best Indian food in the city of Zurich…. Must visit

I was in Switzerland for 10 days & on the last day I got to eat Indian food. So loved the food here. I am not into spicy Indian food, so this place was perfect for me. All the dishes we ordered were tasty. The portion served was good for 2 persons. The service was slow.

Very fine Indian. If it says spicy, then you mean something called ghost pepper... So be careful. Here “spicy” means spicy. As a vegan you can feel at home. This is another top!

Tasty indian food and one of the best naan in town. Choose the garlic one amd don’t get disappointed. The buffet is always a good choice amd you will get a lot of good tasting food for your money. Also you have a good variation of vegan choices.

We've been here twice now and each dish is very different and special! This is how I imagine Indian cuisine. Original and not adapted to European European palates. Price performance is okay, but not cheap.
