The cloud is descending
Our first brunch months ago was ok. The again assigned bistro table, which was too small for 2 people, still required organizational skills and creativity - very limited space, including the distance to the table neighbors.
The service took 10 minutes to arrive. Cappuccino and milk coffee were served in small coffee cream cups, the request for a larger cup - the challenge of the day. We went to the buffet at 12:15, the bread table was 3/4 empty. We asked the chef de service primarily about replenishment of braids. Answer: at this time (?) the full supply would no longer be guaranteed, and due to food waste there would only be a limited refill, the plait would still have to be baked, takes 20 minutes! At a price of just under 70 per person, we clearly expect a corresponding selection of bread, cheese, sausages, fruit and hot dishes. The bread table and the cutting board sank into crumbs. Just 2 different nameless jams in XL jars that the guest was allowed to scoop out of, Nutella no longer available, total rest stop feeling...
All in all, an absolutely soberingly disappointing tower experience. Here you are definitely resting on the cloud of views and the (still) ongoing success, which is a shame! We will not visit this location again in the future - spend your precious money somewhere else!
Hotel very well located, easy access to bus, taxi and Uber transport. Excellent polite service team, helpful with information. The breakfast has breads, cakes, fruits, juices, etc., all very tasty and of high quality. Clean accommodation, good beds, great structure of the rooms with good sizes, we stayed in a standard room. We definitely intend to return.
The place is self-service, something that was not clear to me or I did not know when I went, they give you a card and you stand in line for what you want (pastas, risottos, pizzas, etc.) and they add everything to you. that card, in the end you pay the girl who is at the door at the exit, the pasta is fresh and they prepare it in your face, then you look for where to sit, the only thing missing is for them to explain to you when you enter how it goes, since in In our case, they gave us the cards and didn't ask us if it was the first time or anything, I had to ask. The food was good, we ordered a pizza and a shrimp and pesto pasta.
Not a very good experience we had, after arrival we had to wait for 1 hour to get shuttle as shuttle can take only 15 person at a time and it was looking like everyone has booked this hotel and we got a chance after 1 hour in third shuttle,Even shuttle service is available they charged for 1 year old baby also but that is ok to pay but they should informed before because Driver didn't allowed us to enter shuttle as we got booking for only 2 persons .
Other thing i didn't like they didnt have TV running Youtube and its our headache to configure Chrome cast and that also didnt work after few trials.
I've been here only twice. Once in the summer outside for lunch and recently with my 9 year old daughter on her birthday (a quiet Sunday). I have enjoyed their food (although I'm not sure whether the paper underneath the food is so that you can pick it up and eat by hand), drinks, ambiance and service. People are nice and the place takes me back to living in NYC where Mexican restaurants were everywhere. I will happily return again.
Again hidden surcharge! If you order a portion of Rösti for CHF 9.50 you get about half or max. 3/4 of the portion from before, but the same price! The sour cream sauce included in the price is no longer available and cannot be made fresh. Another performance reduction for the same retail price. Unfortunately, another disappointment as a regular customer over 35 years old! However, I assume that this location will soon be replaced by a bistro (with a non-comparable range) and BurgerKing, this is probably Coop's strategy...
Never again! Here’s why: The sushi itself was third rate, I’m used to much better. The worst thing was canned tuna, in a roll, which you could clearly taste. Then you will find so much vegan “sushi” on offer that you have to be careful not to accidentally get any of it.
Then the turn off with a QR code, instead of a real menu, which automatically creates an uncomfortable station atmosphere. I hate it.
Pay only cashless. Brave new world sends greetings!
Of course, as a parent you are also portrayed as an idiot if your adult daughter orders an Aperol Spritz, which is refused to her (in the presence of her parents!) because she did not have any ID with her. This has never happened to her or to us anywhere, 2020 has probably turned some people into control freaks, not to mention the oh-so-hygienic QR codes and refusal to cash.
We will never go there again!
Staying in ibis Zurich City West was pretty enjoyable.
First of all the receptionist were very nice and hospitable.
I did not spend so much time in the room other than sleeping but I liked the room as it was smallish but quite comfortable with all the necessary things.
The breakfast is decent as it has quite some choices.
Additional things - there is an inner yard with table for table tennis and a place for kids to play. Also, using the pool and spa of the attached Novotel requires a very small fee.
